President Obama is such a handsome man; very charismatic, smart, intelligent, tall, the kind of guy so many people relish having as a leader that they elected him the first African American president where all other candidates of his race not only failed, but never even earned a nomination.
President Obama says all the right things; surprised Americans and the world by taking out Osama bin Laden while we thought he was wasting time playing golf with Speaker Boehner, and although it came without the public option that so many Americans wanted, he came through with the Affordable Care Act to lower costs of medical care in order to prevent people from losing their homes due to excessive medical bills, prohibit discrimination to patients with pre-existing conditions, allow students to remain on their parents' medical plans until age 26, and to medically benefit Americans in other meaningful ways.
The problem... While President Obama was hard at work on the medical care reform act, with his behind the scenes movement to rid the world of bin Laden, and trying to save incomes as he did when extending the Bush tax cuts as a trade for an unemployment insurance extension, more and more Americans were losing their homes because they lost their jobs and could not find another one, or in some cases, found replacement jobs that paid maybe half of what they needed to earn. At the same time, Americans who had been unemployed before Obama took the presidential oath, or found themselves jobless soon thereafter, watched and waited for the jobs to come. Jobs that the health reform act would not produce for a few years down the road. Jobs that the Republican Congress continues to keep from the floor because they refuse to help citizens find employment while Obama is in office. Jobs that President Obama, himself, may have indirectly cost Americans through legislation such as in the debt ceiling so called "compromise" that cut spending knowing that a lack of spending could mean less employment and decreased aid to the economy.
American citizens, in general, are smarter - make that much smarter than many politicians think. American citizens know that the Bush tax cuts benefited the rich and did nothing whatsoever for the poor. The American people know that taxpayer money bailed out big business of Wall Street while doing absolutely nothing for the taxpayers themselves. The American people are fully aware that after helping Wall Street, that after forcing themselves to deal with stimulus bills that would put more debt on the country's back, that Wall Street has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the American people in return.
Why doesn't President Obama come out and say that Representative Cantor, or Majority Leader McConnell, or Speaker Boehner, or any of the other members of the Republican Party does not want to pass his jobs plans? Why doesn't he come right out and say which Democratic Representatives do not want to pass his jobs plans if Dems are included in the job dissing scenario? Why doesn't he call out any Independent legislators, if any, who refuse to truly work to put the American people back to work?
The American people are sick and tired of hearing statements suggesting we need to talk about this, or we could do that, or we should be doing some other thing! The American people WANT ACTION!!!
Senator Barack Obama, the man of mixed decent with the strange name, the beautiful little girls, and the lovely wife, told the people, his base, his voters that he would have FULL DISCLOUSRE... That he would lead in an open and honest fashion... That if something was going awry he would REVEAL that INFORMATION... That if he made a mistake he would SAY SO...
Well I suggest that calling out legislators who refuse to work toward passing job-related initiatives is part of governing in a manner that shows full disclosure...
I suggest that telling the people of particular cities or states wherein roads and bridges need replacing that their leader, using the legislator's name, does not want to pass legislation to repair those roads and bridges because they care more about politics than they care about the safety of American citizens, and most of all, because they plan to keep those people unemployed simply to keep unemployment levels high in order to remove you, Mr. President, from office...
I suggest that not telling Americans that public schools MUST continue to receive government funding because they are the best chance most U.S. children have to receive decent educations is failure to show open leadership. Privatizing public schools would lead to disaster for most American children, Mr. President, and you know that!
I am so sick and tired of hearing politicians talking about what the American people want... What the American people need... What politicians will do for the American people...
I suggest that if politicians, and this includes all levels of office, refuse to actually WORK for the American people, on behalf of the American people, they need to stop receiving pay from the American people. If politicians want to work for special interest groups they need to leave public office and get jobs with those industries - if they can find jobs! But.. Yeah... I know... It is so much more profitable to live off the American public while stuffing pockets with special interest money while preparing for the additional funds earning potential awaiting once public service employment ends...
Now... The Washington obstructionists seem to be gearing up to take away even more from the American people on the backs of hurricane Irene... They want to trade spending cuts for disaster relief!? But then... Why should America be surprised? These are the same radicals who caused the country to be downgraded because of a debt ceiling debate that, with all due respect Mr. President, never should have occurred.
President Obama... We need you to eat your peas!
Call out those Republicans. Let their bases know who they are. Call out those Democrats. Let their bases know who they are. Call out those Independents. Let their bases know who they are. Show that bridge that needs repair. Let people in those regions know why they cannot repair them; why they cannot help the economy while doing so.
I believe you get the gist of what I am saying here, Mr. President. You are an excellent speaker. You told us that you helped the people of Illinois, in effect, because that was your calling. Did you have a calling to help the entire country? Did you get lost a little bit along the way? The American people know that you are dealing with the most ridiculously outrageous Congress in America's history, still, we need you to eat your peas!
Expose the disrupters...
Thank you...
Telling lies in American politics has spiraled out of control with lying media and politicians taking advantage of free press in ways that steer the country away from its ideals. Since the truth is always out there, the intentions of this blog will be to set the record straight when rhetorical lies occur. This blog will also focus on general issues that bear importance with the American people. Be it gay rights, health care, education, economics, religion, wars, or personal attacks.

Yay! Good post. I think we need to take him up on his word, when he said: "I can't do it alone" he meant US and when he said "Make me do it", he meant us too. I think this is part of "make me do it".
ReplyDeleteI am twitting this
Indeed Olivia, ...and WE should have been making him do more a lot sooner! Of course... many of us persisted with our 'crying' if you will, however, not enough of us were 'pushing'!!
