Americans Deserve ObamaCare - #TheAffordableCareAct

Americans Deserve Decent Health Care

Don't let the Republican Party prevent you, your family, friends, or neighbors from receiving health care benefits you need and deserve!

As many as six years have passed since Americans first heard President Barack Obama utter words denoting his interest in bringing affordable health care to the United States. American citizens overwhelmingly voted him into office two times in order to afford him the opportunity to bring his vision to fruition; and yet, the Republican Party still continues to  fight tooth and nail, hand over heel to prevent the sick from being cured. At the same time, they have done all they can to lower chances of providing preventative care that keeps healthy people from falling ill. In their wild attempts to sway the public and to deprive Americans of health coverage, Republicans have labeled the President a socialist, a communist, and a dictator....

BUT SERIOUSLY!!!

Aren't we ALL tired of hearing Right Wing whining and ridiculous hyperbolic song and dance tunes that live only to convince Americans to route against their own interests and well being!??

Aren't we!? Sick of it!??

Well, [Unfortunately...] too many ignorant among us are not... and this is why the craziness persists...

At any rate...

As taxpayers, we pay for the health benefits for ALL of our elected officials! THEY NEVER need to worry about becoming ill and not being able to be seen by a doctor...
THEY NEVER need to worry about receiving the best care from the best doctors OUR TAX DOLLARS CAN AFFORD! ...and yet... they still persist with their attempts to brainwash as many Americans as they can that We, The People, NEITHER need or deserve affordable health care...

What baffles so many of us is why citizens who go along with this ridiculous rhetoric do so??

  • Don't people from all walks of life get sick??
  • Don't people from all walks of life need doctors and at some time or other... hospitalization???
  • Don't we ALL have family, friends and/or neighbors who find themselves down on their luck at times when they fall ill and need decent health benefits???

At the time of this posting, more than 3.3 million Americans have signed up to receive benefits from the Affordable Care Act through the exchanges. Of these millions, more than 1 million signed up in the month of January alone... Despite the fact that so many Red State Governors opted out of providing benefits to their citizens via the Medicaid Expansion portion of ObamaCare, and only 17 states have set up their own exchanges, it seems unlikely that the 3 million plus signup figure consists ONLY of people saying they favored the law from its years as a dream to its injection into reality! Maybe it's just me but I believe that once reality hit, even some of the holdouts began thinking more about their wellbeing and their pocketbooks than their willingness to oppose the President...

When considering the number of Americans covered with the inclusion of Medicaid Expansion portion of ObamaCare, the total signup is even higher than 3.3 million. This is in spite of governors in 25 states choosing not to provide these services to their citizens in 2014. States with governors who opted out of Medicaid Expansion are as follows:

Alabama - Alaska - Florida - Georgia - Idaho - Indiana - Kansas - Louisiana -

Maine - Mississippi - Missouri - Montana - Nebraska - New Hampshire -

North Carolina - Oklahoma - Pennsylvania - South Carolina - South Dakota -

Tennessee - Texas - Utah - Virginia - Wisconsin - Wyoming

President Obama's Regrettable Statement

The fact that President Obama erroneously uttered phrases such as, "If you like your health plan, you can keep it!" on several occasions does not change the fact that Americans need and deserve decent health insurance; and whether or not he truly misled the public is irrelevant to the fact that when you get sick and need health insurance, you're happy to be covered with the best policy you can afford. Sure... delving into the details of the true lies may disclose the fact that insurance companies began changing their policies as patients were signing up for or renewing their current plans. This is the true reason why policy holders were being dropped... and yet... the President refrained from calling out the insurance companies. What the President did do was to allow the insurance companies to give their clients an additional year of coverage under their current plans. Thus, if policy holders insisted upon keeping their current substandard plans instead of purchasing higher quality plans for less money under the Affordable Care Act, they were allowed to... dare I say, "Proceed"...

So what actually happened was that as the Republican Party cried fowl and did all they could to make the President out to be dishonest [to use my words], the insurance companies craftily created changes in their policies that actually led to the bulk of the confusion. This is why it became easy to use the President's words against him... The combination of Republican rhetoric and underhanded insurance practices occurred at the same time... and then... Right Wing television and radio broadcasting - not to mention social media, created mass confusion that played a tremendous role in rendering Obama's words about keeping your 'insurance' contradictory. In addition, some underhanded insurance companies deliberately misled policy holders by sending out letters telling them their plans were changing or being canceled due to ObamaCare and that they could choose a new plan with the same company without taking any action.... that the insurance companies would take care of the paperwork for them... Of course what the insurance companies knew but the policy holders did not know was that the new policies would contain higher premiums and extensive deductibles.

Fortunately, word spread regarding the newest level of insurance company greed... likely reminded Americans why we need health care reform in the first place... and... I suspect, many of those who initially sulked about changing plans came to realize how lucky they were to receive the opportunity to ditch those junk policies and gain worthwhile plans...

Thanking Greedy Insurance Companies for Unsuspecting Lessons

In a round about way, the handful of insurance companies involved in this latest vulture  scheme, played a significant role in reminding Americans:

  • How greedy insurance conglomerates could be...
  • How they will leave no stone unturned when it comes to making a profit...
  • Why health care reform was so vital in the first place...

In thanking them, we must do all we can to elect legislators who will strive to help make the Affordable Care Act better; and get rid of officials who only want to take care of their health using OUR tax dollars while denying us the care we deserve at the same time...

Uninsured Americans... Americans losing their homes to health care bills... Americans going bankrupt because of illnesses travelled a more difficult road than those who never had to undergo those pains in order to realize that for far too many years we, as a people, craved it a fix in the health care system... and now... that decent policies have arrived for Americans residing in states where governors actually do all they can to look out for their people... we must do all we can to keep what we've got... and fight for those still being deprived!!

We know the system isn't yet perfect.... But let's continue to fight to make improvements...

So... Let's say GOODBYE! to loosing homes and going bankrupt just because of illness...

and most of all...

Let's spread the word because one of the most important facts about ObamaCare is that it knows no party lines... thus... even those who complained in the past and continue to complain about it today, who find themselves needing it, can still benefit from its long overdue benefits!
